UBL Research Released and Upcoming Conversations

Dear supporters,

We’re pleased to share that the United Blind Leaders research report has now been officially released.

This report draws on an environmental scan of 21 blindness organisations across Australia, including both service providers and consumer organisations. It provides an important snapshot of where we are on blind leadership — and where there is still work to do.

You can read more in our media release from 23 April here.

This is an important milestone for our work. It gives us a stronger evidence base to continue advocating for increased representation, genuine inclusion, and leadership by people who are blind or vision impaired.

Join us: UBL Research Webinar – 21 May

We invite you to join us for a webinar on Thursday, 21 May, where we will:

•Present key findings from the research

•Share what we’ve learned through this process

•Outline next steps for UBL

•Provide broader updates on our work

Further details and registration information will be shared shortly, but please save the date.

Informal conversation – Monday 4 May

We also want to create space for connection and support during what is, for many Australian leaders, a challenging time.

On Monday, 4 May at 7:30 PM (Melbourne time), we’re hosting an informal online conversation for blind leaders.

This will be a safe, supportive space to come together with others who understand the current environment, including the impact of recent NDIS reforms. Whether you are actively advocating, supporting others, or simply feeling the impact, you are very welcome.

There is no set agenda. You are welcome to listen, share, or just be present.

You can register here:

Please feel free to share this invitation with others who may benefit.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of United Blind Leaders and for being part of this growing movement.

Warm regards,

United Blind Leaders Ltd
