Update from United Blind Leaders: Board Vacancy and Expressions of Interest Extended

Dear supporters,

United Blind Leaders (UBL) wishes to advise that Dr Pam MacNeill has tendered her resignation from the UBL Board due to increased work commitments.

Pam has been a valued contributor to UBL’s early development, particularly through her research and advocacy on lived-experience leadership. While she is stepping down from the Board, she remains an avid supporter of UBL and its mission, and we look forward to continuing to work with her in other ways.

As a result of Pam’s resignation, a casual vacancy now exists on the UBL Board. in addition to the two available co-opted positions. To ensure a strong and inclusive recruitment process, the Board has decided to extend the current expression of interest period until 28 February.

This is an opportunity for people who are blind or vision-impaired, and who are passionate about blind leadership, to help shape the future of UBL. We are particularly interested in people who bring skills, experience, and a commitment to our mission of advancing blind leadership locally and globally.

We are already receiving high quality applications and want to reassure those of you who have already applied that your expressions of interest remain under consideration. We welcome additional interest though, particularly from outside Australia.

We encourage interested supporters to visit the “Get Involved” page on the United Blind Leaders website for full details about the role, selection criteria, and how to apply.

Thank you for your continued support of United Blind Leaders and our mission.

Warm regards,
United Blind Leaders LTD
